WILMINGTON, Del. and FRAUENFELD, Switzerland — The managed service provider (MSP) itesys is enlisting Bacula Systems for data backup and recovery software for its clients.

Frauenfeld, Switzerland-based itesys, an SAP Silver Partner, is deploying Bacula Enterprise, according to Bacula this month.

Bacula Enterprise is a scalable backup and recovery program that integrates with a range of virtual machines, databases, clouds, containers, and storage media.

During the global “ransomware crisis,” itesys’ priority is to ensure the safety of client data.

“We take the protection of our customers’ data very seriously,” said Stefan Dunsch, head of service operations, itesys.

Dunsch said the MSP sought a solution that is “fast to implement and where we could start small without an unreasonable upfront investment.”

“So the solution needed to be able to scale well without depending on a per-client or per-TB model and therefore, be cost-effective,” Dunsch said.

“As we roll out an increasing number of services and features to our customers, our backup and recovery solution has to be easy to customize and automate.”

The software, he said, should quickly fit clients’ “new, complex, and changing requirements.”

Frank Barker, CEO of Bacula Systems, added that large organizations and MSPs are increasing their product portfolio with Bacula’s “broad capabilities.”

“Bacula enables MSPs to cover their entire IT estate from one platform,” said Aristide Caraccio, VP of sales and marketing, Bacula Systems.
